Vincristine Sulfate

As a type of chemotherapy drug, vincristine sulfate (Vincasar PFS®) is prescribed to treat certain types of leukemia in adults and children. Specifically, this drug is approved to treat acute leukemia, a rapidly progressing cancer of the white blood cells. It is also approved for the treatment of several other types of cancer when used in combination with other anticancer medications.

When undergoing chemotherapy therapy with vincristine, you should understand the potential risks associated with this medicine. For example, it may not be safe for use in people with certain allergies or those taking certain medications or herbal supplements. Also, people who have problems with their heart, lungs, or liver should discuss whether vincristine is appropriate for their situation.
