Leukemia and Vincristine

Available by prescription only, vincristine sulfate (Vincasar PFS®) is a chemotherapy medication that is reserved for use in people who have a type of blood and bone marrow cancer called acute leukemia. Vincristine comes in the form of an injection that is given into a vein (an intravenous, or IV, infusion) once a week.

This medicine can also be used in combination with certain other anticancer drugs to treat a number of conditions, such as non-Hodgkin's disease, Hodgkin's disease, and Wilms' tumor. Vincristine works by interfering with cell division, which helps prevent cancer cells from growing and multiplying.
