Tasigna Side Effects

Extensive clinical studies have shown that most people who take Tasigna will develop some type of side effect. In these studies, some of the most common reactions to this chemotherapy drug included nausea, headaches, and fatigue. There are also several potentially serious problems that may occur, including difficulty breathing, blood in the urine, or infections.

An Introduction to Tasigna Side Effects

Just like any medicine, Tasigna® (nilotinib) can cause side effects. Like most cancer medications, the side effects can be significant. Although not everyone who takes the medicine will have problems, many people will experience some type of side effect during Tasigna treatment. Talk to your healthcare provider about ways to manage these side effects.

Common Side Effects With Tasigna

Tasigna has been studied extensively in clinical trials. In these studies, the side effects that occurred in a group of people taking Tasigna were carefully documented and compared to the side effects that occurred in a similar group of people taking a different chemotherapy drug called imatinib (Gleevec®). As a result, it was possible to see what side effects occurred, how often they appeared, and how they compared to the other medicine.

In these studies, the most common Tasigna side effects included:
