Tasigna and Tyrosine Kinase

Tasigna® (nilotinib) is a prescription chemotherapy drug used to treat adults who have a certain type of cancer known as chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).

As a type of tyrosine kinase inhibitor, Tasigna works by blocking a protein in the body known as tyrosine kinase. Leukemia cancer cells need this particular protein to grow and multiply. By blocking tyrosine kinase, Tasigna slows down the progression of CML.
