Leukemia Home > Marqibo Warnings and Precautions

Who Should Not Receive Marqibo?

You should not use Marqibo if you:

  • Have a condition of the brain or spinal cord that causes damage to the myelin sheath (the protective covering around nerve fibers in the brain), including a rare genetic condition known as Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) syndrome.

  • Will be receiving it as an injection into the spine (an intrathecal injection).

  • Are allergic to Marqibo, vincristine, or any of the components used to make the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the ingredients.

Final Thoughts

There are a number of situations in which Marqibo should not be used, along with several warnings and precautions people should be aware of before beginning treatment. However, it is possible that not all of these issues were discussed in this article. Therefore, you should talk with your healthcare provider about the specific safety concerns that may apply to you.
