Iclusig Chemotherapy Information

If you have certain types of leukemia, your healthcare provider may recommend Iclusig® (ponatinib). However, this chemotherapy medicine is not suitable for everyone, so it's important to review the safety information with your healthcare provider before starting treatment. For example, make sure your healthcare provider is aware of any other health conditions you may have, such as liver disease, heart problems, or high blood pressure.
 
Iclusig comes in the form of tablets that are taken by mouth once daily. It works by stopping or slowing down the production of abnormal blood cells. Most people who take this chemotherapy medicine will develop some type of side effect, such as fatigue, headaches, or a rash.
