Gleevec Drug Interactions

Everolimus
Gleevec may increase the level of everolimus in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for everolimus side effects. Your healthcare provider may need to lower your everolimus dosage if you take these medications together.
 
Fentanyl
Combining fentanyl with Gleevec may increase the level of fentanyl in your body, increasing your risk for serious side effects, such as drowsiness, confusion, and breathing problems. Your healthcare provider may monitor you more closely for side effects if you take these medicines together.
 
Fesoterodine
Combining Gleevec with fesoterodine may increase the amount of fesoterodine in your body, possibly increasing your risk for side effects. In most cases, people who take Gleevec should not take more than 4 mg of fesoterodine. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction. He or she will let you know if you need to reduce your fesoterodine dosage.
 
Fluticasone
Gleevec may increase the level of fluticasone in your blood, potentially increasing your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about this interaction before taking these drugs together.
 
Leflunomide
Combining leflunomide and Gleevec may increase your risk for blood cell problems, including abnormally low red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Your healthcare provider will monitor you for these problems if you take these medications together.
 
Live Vaccinations
Live vaccines contain live viruses or bacteria. If you receive a live vaccine while taking Gleevec, you might become infected with the virus or bacteria from the vaccine. Also, live vaccines may be less effective in people taking this drug. Talk to your healthcare provider before receiving a vaccination or immunization while taking Gleevec.
