Leukemia and Fludara

Available by prescription only, Fludara® (fludarabine phosphate) is a chemotherapy medication that is reserved for use in people who have a type of blood and bone marrow cancer called B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Fludara comes in the form of an injection that is given into a vein (an intravenous, or IV, infusion).
Specifically, Fludara is approved for use in people who have not responded adequately to other treatment, or whose condition has progressed during other treatment. Fludara is approved for use in adults only.
Fludara works by interfering with cell division, which helps prevent cancer cells from growing and multiplying.
