If you are undergoing chemotherapy treatment for leukemia, lymphoma, or cancerous solid tumors, your healthcare provider may prescribe a medication called Elitek® (rasburicase). The medication is approved for use in adults and children, and works by decreasing uric acid levels that may become high in people going through these particular chemotherapy treatments.

Elitek is slowly injected into a vein (intravenously, or by IV) once a day for up to five days. Your dosage will be determined based on your weight, your uric acid levels, and other factors.
