Cytoxan Interactions Explained

The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when Cytoxan is combined with any of the drugs listed above.

Anthracyclines
Cytoxan may increase the risk of heart problems due to anthracyclines. Your healthcare provider may need to carefully monitor your heart if you take these medications together.

Certain Anticonvulsants
Taking Cytoxan with certain anticonvulsants (seizure medications) can raise the level of Cytoxan in your blood, increasing your risk of Cytoxan side effects. If you are taking these medicines together, your healthcare provider may need to decrease your Cytoxan dosage.

Live Vaccinations
Because chemotherapy (including Cytoxan) can suppress the immune system, it is generally best to avoid live vaccinations while receiving chemotherapy.
